I'm going to Chicago this upcoming week, for 4ish days. What are things to do/see?

Hi. I'm a teenage girl (14) visiting Chicago with my parents, and older brother (although he'll be busy attending an internship interview) I currently study photography (film and digital), vintage/antique decor, fashion, and etc. I'm looking for indie/interesting art-related activities I must see in Chicago--museums and etc. Nothing too expensive would be nice. We'll be staying in the Oak Brook area/downtown Chicago and zip code 60523 so if there's anything close to where we'll be that would be nice as well. My parents enjoy visiting antique stores and thrift stores so your recommendation would be nice. Nice restaurant recommendations would help as well. Thanks in advance. :D I'm looking for the quirky places of Chicago that are interesting and not necessarily famous.I'm going to Chicago this upcoming week, for 4ish days. What are things to do/see?
For a restaurant, you should go to Uncle Bub's. It is an awesome barbeque joint (it won Naperville Ribfest, one of the largest in the world) that is located in Westmont, not too far from Oak Brook.

Besides that, I would agree with Wrigley and The Art Institute.
AIC-----Art Institute of Chicago is a MUST SEE. Even more so if you have an interest in art. I think it is better than the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY or any of the California Art Museums. You absolutely must see it. Prepare though, it is a very large well stocked museum and takes quite a few hours to get through.

Wrigley Field is beautiful this time of year, as well as historic. Navy Pier is a good sight too. The Alder Planeterium is the oldest planeterium that exists, but has good shows. The Frank Lloyd Wright house is a good show too. The strangest (but in my opinion one of the best unknown good sights) is the Vietnam Veterans Art Museum. It's several blocks south of downtown, I think across from Yellow Cab Company's central dispatch. It can be a little graphic, as the art was done by real veterans. But it does reinforce that art depends upon the senses of the artist.I'm going to Chicago this upcoming week, for 4ish days. What are things to do/see?
The Three Sisters Antique Mall is a former Woolworth's now two-level multi-dealer vintage store. Prices are much less than north side shops and better-known stores. Take the 294 Tollway South to 127th Street/Cicero Exit. Head North onto Cicero and immediately go East (right turn) onto 127th Street four mi. into downtown Blue Island. At Western Ave. go South (right turn) about 1/2 mile to 13042 S. Western.

There's also a few antique shops close to Oak Brook on 31st Street, just East of LaGrange Road.

Another fabulous place to browse is the crammed-to-the-ceiling Rosebud Antiques on LaGrange Road, just north of Plainfield. They have a wonderland of toys and unusual things from the 40s and 50s.

Oak Brook isn't known for family-owned restaurants; they're mostly chains, but you can't go wrong at Greek Islands, on 22nd St, Lombard (next to Oak Brook) and Maggiano's Little Italy in Oak Brook Mall on 22nd St.
