We'll be staying in Northeast Chicago. We'll be there most of the week. We are hoping that since we're going in the low tourist month of August and during the week that school starts, we will have less traffic to deal with.
Anyway, me being a typical American, I'd like to know what good places there are to visit, mainly for food. My friend is making the plans of sites to see but I want to know what food to eat. Chicago is known for their deep dish pizza. I'm assuming there are a bunch of Mom and Pop restaurants as well. I'd love to visit Mom and Pop stores since there aren't that many where I am.
What other good places to eat? I'm always hungry for more fattening and unhealthy American cuisine!Me and my friend are going to Chicago next week. Where to visit for food?
Gene and Jude's hot dogs.
When going to Chicago do not be put off by the front of a building. Go in and eat! Dives and hole-in-the-walls in Chicago are the way to go!
Gino's East pizza is frickin' awesome. Portillo's has a really good Italian beef sandwich and chili chees dogs - if you're looking for quick on the go bites that are yummy. Rosebud has a nice atmosphere and great Italian food. Al-Hambra's Palace is very different - awesome visually to the eye and have belly dancer's, hookah, and middle eastern cuisine. You'll deffinitely have a variety of choices. You can't go that wrong with the food in Chicago!Me and my friend are going to Chicago next week. Where to visit for food?

I live here, and yes Chicago is well known for deep dish pizza as well as pizza in general. I recommend Aurelio's pizza, Bacino's, Sanfrantello's, Giordano's, Mancino's, I can go on and on, I just love pizza!!!!
If you get a chance, go down to Chinatown (Cermack Road), Greektown (S. Halsted St.) or the Italian area on Taylor St and you'll find some of the best food in Chicago and it's reasonably priced.
