What should I pack for a trip to Chicago?

I'm going on a class trip to Chicago in a week! What should I pack? We're spending four days there: sightseeing, shopping, going to fancy restaurants, and seeing a show.

What should I bring? How many pairs of jeans, what types of shoes, what style of dress, etc? (By the way, what's the weather like there?)

I'm going shopping on Saturday and need to know what I still have to buy, what I need to wash, and how big of a suitcase I need. What should I pack for a trip to Chicago?
I live in Chicago (:

Okay, weather here is very messed up. I can be 70 one day and 35 the next. You need to be prepared. Last tuesday it was 68 and today it was 40 and very windy. The temp will be between 40-60. there will be some showers.

Bring 2 nice outfits for shows. You probably will go to the Oriental or Ford theater. Either dark no hole jeans or black/kahki pants and a semi nice shirt. Nothing too fancy. COMFORTABLE flats.

Bring some hoodies or zip ups and a light jacket. There is a lot of walking so wear cute and comfortable shoes like Pumas. Here is a list..

1 or 2 nice pants/nice jeans/skirt (not too short)

3 jeans

2 nice shirts

Swim suit if there is a pool at the hotel

3 tees/casual shirts

1 pair of flats

1 walking shoes

1 flip flops incase it gets up to the high 60's

Socks

under garnments

2 hoodies (one light one heavier)

1 light jacket

Easy to handle purse so no one steals it

Money

Pajamas

Have fun! Chicago is beautiful at night.
I would pack more than expected...because personally I feel that you can never be too sure.

My advice would be to make a detailed list of everything you need and divide them into categories.

Start with the basics: toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, shampoo, straightening iron, etc. Include all your health and beauty cosmetics.

Next list your electronics: Cell phone, charger, ipod, ipod charger, batteries, camera, camera memory chips, etc. I would not bring too much though...keeping track of everything is hard enough and adding expensive electronics to the chaos won't make it easier.

Now your clothing: You should pack clothes for all possible scenarios. First off, pack pajamas (2 pairs should be fine), and some comfortable sight seeing clothes such as sweats and t-shirts. Don't forget to pack some sophisticated, dressy clothing for the restaurants and nice clothes you would wear to take pictures with your friends and when sight-seeing and seeing the shows. Pack comfortable sneakers but also dressy shoes for those special events. I would pack a cute but not overly dressy dress with leggings and a big belt and accessories...whatever is your style.

I hope this helped...and I hope you have fun! LisWhat should I pack for a trip to Chicago?

toothbrush

tampons if your on

brush

face wash.

there you go!
chicago is a great city, i've been there a couple of times.

the city has a very casual feel. For most of the time (sightseeing, shopping). Just wear nice jeans, and tops.. nothing too fancy.

For going out, nothing over the top. The city isn't known for being overally stuck up. I'd suggest just a nice dress and flats.

You'll probably be walking around alot, so bring comfortable shoes to walk around in.

In terms of weather, it will probably rainy and windy (they don't call it windy city for anything). the forecast predicts rain. So prepare for rainy/windy weather. So make sure you have an awesome rain coat (one that will take hours of rain). rain boots might be nice too

To the people who say it's unsafe.. it's bs. I've been there numerous times, even in some called "bad" sections. I have never had a problem
