I'm visiting the Chicago area for a week, what are some interesting things I shouldn't miss while there?

Can you recommend some good restaurants, museums, site seeing highlights, off the beaten track treasures to see? Fun things to do?

Check out the German U-Boat in the Science and Industry museum, IMAX theater at Navy Pier, Lou Malnati Pizza, various Italian Beef sandwich joints, Magnificent Mile, and if you have time go up north to Gurnee, IL and check out Six Flags Great America over there. Gurnee, IL also has a large mall there called Gurnee Mills Mall.
I would definitely recommend taking a boat tour of Chicago. I have family and friends from EVERYWHERE and they always enjoy the boat tours. They take you down the river into the lake and explain the architecture and history of the city. Also see Millennium Park and Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park. The museums are all wonderful. If your into Malls make sure to visit water tower palce mall, the harlem irving park plaza H.I.P , and you can go all the way to gurnee to gurnee mills mall. Navy pier is fun theres boats and everything. Shedd aquarium. Brockfield zoo , lincoln zoo stinks. Defiantly see the Shedd Aquarium and the Feild Museum, both are great places.
