Travelling to Chicago in 2 weeks, anything "punk rock" to do ?

We are two girls (21-22 years old) and we are going to Chicago in 2 weeks.

But, we don't really know what to do and/or where to go to see people that would fit with us. We are mostly all about music (punk/rock) so any shows would be great. Bars with pool table, nice and not too expensive restaurant ? Shop (like Hot Topic, Newbury Comics, Clandestine Industries' store and Threadless).. Any idea, people ?

Put everything that comes to your mind, but it'd be better if you had a little description for each of your suggestions ;) :)

Thank you !

(Sorry for any mistakes/weird sentences, I'm french :))Travelling to Chicago in 2 weeks, anything "punk rock" to do ?
delilah's on lincoln avenue is a good punker bar.

shops on clark from addison south to belmont are good too.

elbow room on lincoln close to deliahs has a lot of punk shows.

the metro on clark is where more of the mainstream punk acts will play.

shubbas is another spot with some punk shows.
you should go downtown chicago for the club scene and you'll be close to the train stations walking distance.Travelling to Chicago in 2 weeks, anything "punk rock" to do ?
Try a bar called the Exit!! Make sure you bring identification with your date of birth!!
Someone mentioned the Exit, which is a good but obvious choice. You might also want to check out Reggie Rock Club, a new place that recently opened up on South State Street (http://reggieslive.com/), or the Metro (http://www.metrochicago.com/shows/).

As far a bars, you'd probaby want to hang out in the Wicker Park are. TONS of bars, many with pool tables. Try Estelle's (http://chicago.citysearch.com/profile/11鈥?/a> or the Note (http://www.centerstagechicago.com/music/鈥?/a> The whole neighborhood has this whole indie/punk thing going on.

There's a Threadless story on North Broadway street, about four blocks south of Belmont ave. Quimby's is a book store in Wicker Park that sells alternative books and comics (http://www.quimbys.com/).

Finally, for where to say, not sure. Don't know what your budget is. You might want to try a hostel. There's one in downtown Chicago that's pretty cheap. (Lots of people who attend Lollapalooza here stay there. (http://www.hichicago.org/). You can get a room for about $35 a night but you have to share.

Bon chance!
Head north to the clark and halstead area. Used to be an extremely "alternative" section of town. There are a lot of cool shops to just browse, and if you want a true american hot dog and fries (in a brown paper sack) check out muskies right below the Elavated train (the "L")....which you can take to get there.
