Which is the best cheap and "famous" place for eating in chicago?

i'll go next week to chicago, but i have a low budget, i need to know about amazing food but i need it to be really cheap.

In each city we can find small stands, restaurants or vehicles (such as hot dog car) and are famous not only for good food but also for its low prices.

please help me!!!!!!Which is the best cheap and "famous" place for eating in chicago?
SuperDawgs and Al's are still very reasonable.
The Billy Goat Tavern under Michigan Avenue is famous from the Saturday Night Live skits and is cheap and pretty good. The Weiner's Circle south of Diversey and Clark is justifiably famous for the hot dogs and the staff (particularly late on a Saturday night.) Also, it's not quite as cheap, but Giordano's Pizza is well worth stopping into as it is very classic Chicago.Which is the best cheap and "famous" place for eating in chicago?
Well i did some researh and it looks like Potbelly's Sandwich Works, which is a deli. This deli has a four-star review and has a cost of 10$ or less. Here i will give you the link:http://www.potbelly.com/

Hope this works have fun

Peace
how about cafe laguardia? http://www.menuism.com/restaurants/a0Bzx鈥?/a>

the cuban nachos are fantastic, and the ambiance is fun.

chicago is totally possible on the budget, especially if you stay out of downtown. have fun!
Soul food-

"MacArthur's" on Madison st. 2 blocks east of Central Ave. on Chicago's West Side is cafeteria style eating and good for the price.

Italian Beefs-

"Schatels" on Cermak(22nd St) and Cicero Ave. Everyone raves on the their quick bites.

"Portillos" a few locations around the city and suburbs

Pizza-

"Villa Rosa" on Archer rd 2 blocks past central in the Midway airport area pretty good get a lg pizza and a free liter of rc

"Mama Luna's" Fullerton between Laramie and Cicero

Hot Dogs-

"Hot Doug's" on California 2 blocks past Belmont kinda pricey and they only take cash. But well worth it

"Maxwell Street" on Roosevelt rd and Maxwell St right off of i94 (Dan Ryan) Expressway. You go for the polish sausage!

"Tasty Dog" 708 W. Lake St. 1 blck east of Oak Park Ave. in Oak Park, IL

believe it or not they have pretty good tacos.

BBQ-

"Coleman's" on Cicero ave and 3 blocks south of Chicago Ave. go for the ribtips if you like sauce get mild sauce on your fries.

"Robinsons" in Oak Park, il outskirts of Chicago. Madison Ave and Oak Park Ave. Don't expect fast service. Order then come back 2 hours later and it should be ready a half hour after that. lol

OAK PARK, IL If you come in off of Lake St and Austin, you'll find a wealth of good eateries. Just an idea if you didn't want to roam to much.
Try the "retro" McDonald's on Ohio. All 50's stuff. Lots of fun.
Well in my experience i believe you should try Arturo's Tacos on Armitage and Western a try. They have been open for 20 years now, have a good lunch and dinner crowd. Prices range from 1.80-12.00. Good Stuff, Good Eats!
Portillos; cheap and lots of variety (best italian beef)

good luck enjoy chicago!
Ok, you need a car to get to some of those places mentioned in the answers. If you go have a car, I would go to Superdawgs (for hotdogs) or Maxwell Street, these are like two most famous places for hotdogs, and they are good.

No car:

Singha, it's a Thai restaurant on Clark in the loop. It's super cheap like $5/$6, but absolutely amazing food, it's packed at lunchtime. And they have your food out in 5 minutes.

For BBQ, there is a stand on the corner of Wacker and State called Robinson's, try the ribs or pulled pork.

For Italian Beef, there's a place called Luke's on Jackson and Wells, it's amazing, everyone loves the beef here.

Ok and then lastly, there's a place called Burrito Buggy, it's on Van Buren and Wells. They have a Gyro Burrito that is absolutely amazing and huge, you will not have room for anything else.

Hopes this helps and enjoy your trip to Chicago!!
i love going to Pizza Due!

there is alot of people there but sometimes isnt that long and its worth the wait
Manny's for hot pastrami sandwiches
WHITE CASTLE!!

If you are downtown, go to Bona Vino's. It is on Van BUren between Clark and Dearborn. Looks like a dive, but is REALLY good food!!! They have been around for about 40 years!!
