I am looking to book a hotel and restaurant somewhere in my area. Cities: Milwaukee, Chicago, St. Louis, Moline. I want a romantic getaway for one one night in a week or so. I am willing to spend some coin for top notch food. The hotel has to be decent but its probably less important than the dining. Any ideas because I'm from the country and not super familiar with the urban areas around here?Restaurant/Hotel Suggestions?

I would definitely suggest Chicago, St. Louis would be next. I enjoy Milwaukee, but the last time I was there it was a ghost town, definitely only something to do in the Summer! As far as Chicago is concerned, I would have to disagree w/ the Hyde Park suggestions if you want to be IN the city. I would suggest the Drake for a quintessential Chicago stay- as for a room w/ a view of the lake. There are a TON of great hotels in the area, the Marriot on Michigan Ave is quite nice as well. You cant really go wrong w/ hotels if you find something in the loop.
As far as FOOD, Chicago has some Fantastic restaurants, but it all depends on what kind of food you are looking for!
Steakhouse: Ruths Chris, Mortons (2 locations- the one in the Cold Coast in the original Mortons), Gene and Georgettis, Gibsons, Smith and Wolensky (sit on the river), Capitale Grille, The Palm, Ditkas (great chicago-y place)
Other: Piccolo Sogno, Volare, Rosebud, Hugos Frog Bar, Signature Room (95th Floor of the Hancock Building), 1492 or Cafe Babareeba for Tapas, Table 52 (from Oprah's Chef), Frontera Grill or Topolobompo (Rick Bayless restaurants %26amp; Obamas favorites!), Cocco Pazzo (italian), Prosecco, Tru, Avec, Blackbird
OK I am really hungry now. I can help you narrow it down if you have any ideas about what type of food %26amp; atmosphere you would be looking for! Have fun!
