WTF is up with people trying to know celebrities business on a personal level?

Its all like "Did you know that what's her face is dating that guy" or "Did you know what's that whore is pregnant".

There is a life outside magazines and VH1 people!!

Why does anyone give a sh*t?!

You have never seen these people, you will never know these people, and you will always buy a stupid celebrity mag. And for what?WTF is up with people trying to know celebrities business on a personal level?
I WAS THINKING THAT TODAY! %26amp; getting pissed off worse %26amp; worse with each celebrity magazine i saw...%26amp; there were a lot. so i was pretty mad. i dont understand either why their life should matter. %26amp; even if it did, youre totally right, magazines %26amp; the media only disclose stuff that will get people's attention, no one will ever truly know a celebrity by reading/watching that crap.
I don't get it either. I hate that for some reason these people are so "special" that they get so much attention...and for what? Because they can pretend to be a character on tv? I couldn't care less who so and so is dating, of if they're getting divorced. They're just people.WTF is up with people trying to know celebrities business on a personal level?
People have long been interested and fascinated, and sometimes repulsed, by those who are notable. That's not likely to change.

In the last few years, scientists have been studying the phenomenon of "celebrity worship syndome" and say that the need to find an idol to follow may be in one's DNA. So even if one isn't following celebrities, they'd be looking at sports figure, military leaders, politicians, even outstanding academics or prominent community members.

If you don't like it, fine, but why bother criticizing those who do? They're not hurting you in any way, shape or form...or do you simply have a need to feel superior to others and think you're above it all? Just because someone considers themselves an active fan of someone's talent or works, it doesn't mean that individual doesn't have a life or interests outside of their particular fandom...or that they are somehow dysfunctional or pathologically starstruck! Sure, there's a small minority who are, but it certainly doesn't describe the vast majority of people who read celebrity magazines...any more than reading a murder mystery novel makes a person a potential killer! A TRUE fan respects the privacy of the celebrity they claim to love or admire.

Personally, I'd rather see folks talk about lighthearted and harmless celebrity gossip than see them sticking their noses in the affairs of family, friends, neighbors and co-workers where their gossip really CAN cause damage to others.
They care because they don't know how to have lives of their own. What a waste.
Why are you answering questions in the "Celebrity" category than?
this is the celebrity section.! thie purpose is to ask q's about celebs. :)
I wish I knew!

People who buy those magazines complain about it too half the time, and the money they give buying them only fuels the interest even further....

I agree, who cares about someone you don't even know? They are actors, you have no idea who they are.... I guess it just thrives of the universal need for women to gossip, but really I am much more interested to know who slept with who in my own group of friends - way more juicy and I don't even have to pay, just pry....
