What's a good nature-filled day trip within 3 hours of DC? No big cities, no boutiques, just something naturey?

Here are some suggestions:

Virginia Beach, VA

Eastern Shore, MD

Luray Caverns

Great Falls Park

...are the above any good?

...and any other great suggestions (easy hiking, walking...Please no whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, scuba diving, etc. Just something easy and relaxing).

Add as much detail with as many specific examples as possible. Thanks.

Go west on I-66 take Front Royal Exit and drive the Skyline Drive.

As pretty as you'll find near DC.
Shenandoah National Park is the best place to hike within 3 hours drive. There are dozens of hikes. Skyline Drive is the road that goes along the ridge of the park, but don't just drive it - get out and walk!
