Are you going to boycott the NFL for turning down Rush Limbaugh's right to own?

the Rams? The NFL is proving more and more that they are just a group of elitists and narrow minded people who would rather have criminals than people with differing political views... here are some NFL Criminals

OL - Nate Newton

Newton was caught with 213 pounds of marijuana in 2001, then two weeks later was caught with another 175 pounds. He served two years in jail and has recently come clean about his smuggling days, stating ""It was all the fun the law would allow...and then some."

OL - Kenyatta Walker

Walker was arrested for disorderly conduct (a rather light charge for this list) in 2003 in New York City.

OL - Barret Robbins

Among the NFL's Weed Crew, Robbins went missing before the 2003 Super Bowl while with the Oakland Raiders. He was later charged for attempted murder, and was also arrested for marijuana while awaiting that trial.

DL - Dana Stubblefield

In 2000, Stubblefield was arrested after an argument between he and his wife escalated into a fight. He was charged with assault, though he insisted that only words were exchanged.

QB - Steve McNair

Arrested in May of 2003 for drunk driving, a search of his Lincoln Navigator later turned up a 9mm handgun. The record, combined with the 27,000 yards passing and 192 total touchdowns are good enough to make the team. Honorable mentions for this go out to Broadway Joe Namath, who was oh so close to making the list due to sexual harrassment, and Peyton Manning, who was actually one of those listed by a University of Tennessee trainer as among those who did harrass her, although disciplinary action was handled by the coach.

WR - Randy Moss

Completing the most feared receiving duo in the history of football is sports' ultimate road rager. Moss was arrested in 2002 after allegedly trying to run over a traffic agent.

LB - Lawrence Taylor

In the words of Rick James, "Cocaine's a hell of a drug."

CB - Ricky Manning, Jr.

Manning, fresh off a new deal with the Chicago Bears, and his posse allegedly laid down the law on some poor guy in a Los Angeles restaurant in 2005.

Robinson reportedly offered about 40 bucks to an undercover police officer for a b.j. the day before he was supposed to make his third straight Super Bowl start. Apparently, he had the baby batter on the brain and didn't want to go out with a loaded gun.

S - Sean Taylor

The budding Washington Redskin was arrested after an altercation broke out when his all-terrain vehicles were taken. He was originally charged with pointing a gun during the dispute, though he denied having a gun.

RB - Najeh Davenport

Probably the strangest of the crimes listed, Davenport was charged with breaking into a woman's dorm room and defecating into a laundry basket her closet. Criminal charges against the Packer running back were settled via community service in 2002, but the woman sued Davenport in 2004.|||You are very confused. The NFL did not turn down Rush. The buying group he was associated with pushed him out. Considering the well documented racist comments of Rush I applaud the NFL and the NFL Players Union for speaking up against Rush. And the buying group realized that having Rush as part of their group was hurting, not helping, their cause. You go right ahead and boycott the NFL, we won't miss you in the least.|||You can I won't!|||Leftists can do nothing repeat lies. I despise them. The NFL? Waste of an afternoon...|||Yes, I'm very pissed!|||YES Season tics, Gone Held Sense (1984)

Seahawks

Good day for MLB|||Yes|||Go for it, goodbye|||Couldn't agree more with the answers given here thus far. Limbaugh had earned millions being a Republican shill, and that probably puts him in good stead with the majority of NFL owners, but it is his racist remarks, calling for segregated busing in Missouri, the most recent example last month, that makes him persona non gratis.

The NFL had nothing to do with him being dropped from the bidding team in question, in fact, the team's current owners have said they aren't even interested in selling. There are several groups of investors that are putting together offers to buy, nevertheless, but the investors who included Limbaugh wisely discarded his inclusion once they saw the controversy his interest caused.

Personally, knowing how big a sports fan Limbaugh is, I hope this disappointment instigates a serious bout of depression and forces him to get off the air so that he stops poisoning our airwaves with more of his lies, distortions, racist remarks and hate-mongering.|||You're totally missing the point of the whole situation. It doesn't have anything to do with "political views". Limbaugh is conservative and I'm pretty sure at least 75% of the NFL owners and administration are as well. It has to do with the racist statements that he made on national television about Donavan McNabb, a current player in the league. The NFL is simply showing support for its players, of which a high percentage are black, by not allowing a person who has prejudiced views to hold a position of power in the league. If you were running a company employing predominantly Jewish employees, would you hire Hitler as a department head? Of course not. I'm not comparing Limbaugh to Hitler, it's just an analogy, but why would a company hire a racist to oversee black employees? It makes no business sense, let alone ethical sense. Certain players have had problems with the law for sure, but the vast majority have not. Besides, a crime is something one is punished for and moves on; racist beliefs don't go away.|||No, I don't think that Limbaugh's politics is the problem. It's how he expresses them that's the problem. There's no question in my mind that Limbaugh would endeavor to forward his political ends in the NFL just as he does in the media. And owning an NFL team would provide a soapbox for him to leverage his political weight. That's just who he is, and he wouldn't be able to separate business and politics in the NFL.

Limbaugh owning an NFL team would mean an endless stream of controversy and political posturing. The NFL does not need that or him, and his buying partners made a smart move in dumping him.|||You've got your right-wing information wrong. The NFL didn't turn Rush (Bigot) Limbaugh down. His potential partners wisely did.

By the way, NONE of the people you listed is/was an owner, or tried to be one. Stick with the truth, instead of trying to cloud it.

Bob|||Yes we are! The NFL will never get another dollar from us. This is truly an Obamanation! We have also had to cancel our membership with AARP recently because of this Domestic Terrorist Obama. How long are we true blue patriots going to put up with this guy???|||Stick to the facts!Nobody turned Rush down.He has not even applied to be an owner!

A lot of the other incidents you talked about were by former NFL players(Newton %26amp; McNair) Davenport wasn't even in the league yet!

Another thing when NFL teams go up for sale their are several groups bidding for em!Someone will get turned down! For some reason you believe that Rush should be moved to the front of the process because why?

You point out drug offenses but fail to point out your hero's addiction problems!

Boycott all u want! The NFL won't miss u|||Only conservatives watch and enjoy football and will be boycotting the NFL pantywaists who dumped on Rush. The commie creep bigots who hate him and everyone else, including themselves, can resume crying to their mommas and playing with their dollies.|||Yes, I won't be watching the NFL, or attending any games. Contrary to what's been documented, the commissioner of the NFL, and Jim Irsay who owns the Colts did make public comments against Limbaugh's potential minority ownership of the Rams; thus, the NFL did have a hand in getting Rush booted from the proposed ownership group.

As far as Limbaugh's statement about McNabb, it wasn't racist. I'm black, and know exactly what real racism is. He correctly asserted that the sports media goes out of its way to kiss the *** of sub par performing black quarterbacks so that they're not seen as racists because all of the really good quarterbacks who set the standard of what good is happen to be white. I'm sorry, but McNabb isn't close to being the same caliber of player at the quarterback position that a Brady, either Manning, or Favre are. However, to avoid potentially having race brought into the issue, the comparisons are never made.

It's exactly the same thing with the president; any criticism of him is written off as racism too.|||No, I'll never watch the NFL ever again! Give them up and stick with college ball, at least until the PC cancer eats it up as well! Everyone has a right to espouse their political beliefs in this country without fear of retribution of ANY sort, and people who engage in this sort of character assassination in an attempt to punish someone for merely having a different opinion from them is treading on EXTREMELY dangerous ground!

That sword cuts both ways!|||Yeah, and what does any of this have to do with anything? The other owners knew he'd be a lightning rod, and the players flat out wanted nothing to do with him. Sounds like a recipe for trouble.|||Absolutely. Your points were well taken and agreed upon. Let's not forget Ben Rothlesberger - Rape and providing alcohol to a minor

Michael Irvin - Drugs and Guns

Michael Vick - Dogs and gambling

Pac Man Jones - accessory to murder

Bill Bellechik - cheating

Steve McNair - adulterer

Not to mention the deadbeat players that owe the casinos here in Vegas.

The list goes on.

WELCOME TO THE NFL - The National Felon League.

And they are worried about their image if a law abiding Citizen that exercises his constitutional right to speak as an owner. Anyone who has listened to Rush for more than 1 hour knows he is not a racist. Welcome to the New America where you are not allowed to speak out!!!

Good job Roger Goodell! You are a whore for the Sharpton's and Jackson's of the world. Even after you gave the thumbs up to Rush early in the summer.

I will be cancelling my NFL Sunday Ticket and I urge others to do the same.|||boycott the NFL no. but be upset yes. i belive that rush is a strong american who stands up 4 what is right and if more of the world would be like that it would be better. people dont like rush because he is a honest person and some people just cant handle the truth and dont want to face the fact that he is right because then they cant just do what they want but i am a huge football fan and i belive that we should speak out on this outrage but boycotting the NFL is just going to give them what they want which is people like us (the good guys) out of the picture|||I'm done with the NFL! You can shove your politically correct crap back up your ***! Rush Limbaugh has the courage to speak the truth. NFL is a bunch of cowards. I have programmed all NFL channels off of my direct TV. I will never watch or attend an NFL game or buy a ticket ever again. Will never buy any NFL merchandise again. I will be contacting all NFL sponsors and letting them know I will no longer be viewing their ads or commercials or buying their products until they drop their NFL sponsorship. You think you can persecute people for exercising their constitutional right to free speech and expression of ideas. Think again. It all started with Howard Cosell then Marge Schott. You guys are in lock step with Nazi playbook. What a joke the NFL is. Screw you!

To those who say it was the other partners that dropped Rush and not the NFL, you're right, sort of. But they did it under a lot of pressure from the top NFL officials, who basically told them that if they keep Rush they can kiss their bid good-bye. They then engaged in a smear campaign making up what they couldn't prove. And doesn't anyone find it a little odd that we don't know the names of the partners of the other bidding groups, all we know are the names of Rush Limbaugh and the guy that brought him in on it??? I am a huge football fan, but I'm tired of this crap. I'm done with the NFL, and I'm done with liberals.|||I'm glad that his potential owners did the right thing, and dumped his rather huge behind.

The man spent years talking about how drug abusers should get the death penalty, then we find out that he is a felony drug abuser.|||For one thing Bush Limbaugh is wrong in his own line of work. So how in this world is he going to improve in another? Please put down your rush is right coffee mug and listen to the idiot. White i am but ignorant you rush worshipers are. Bye the way go steel

. Oh shoot i almost forgot, they have an asian player, african american players and not the least an islander. Maybe Rush should buy out the Pittsburgh Steel rs

anyway Rush keep eating so we wont hear you... IDIOT.|||Do you think for a moment he would do the same for you ? no I will not. He did not need anyone to boycott for him, when he use his voice to tear down so many people. People are screaming he speaks the truth, and that's not true.. Because he yells and jump up and down in that chair means nothing. And just what's going on right now between people is right up his ally, he loves controversy. And some are backing away from him because he just keeps going farther and farther. Even his own party is backing away. I guess Obama has been the President for as long as we have had school buses. Children fighting on a bus some laughing at the fight as I have seen in all grades. Rush comes out with see this is Obama's world he is responsible for this. C'mon that is the kind of crap that is wrong. Why would you lie like that then his next intelligent remark was separate buses. I did not vote for Obama but stop the lies. But you know what I don't believe this man believes half of what he says, he make good money from causing strife among people.. Anyone who wants to boycott help yourself. Funny but no one has ever boycotted Rush guess they respect his freedom of speech, or they just don't care about the raving. Me I choose the latter|||For those of you who keep referring to the "racist comments" he made about McNabb --- how many of you actually saw the segment live, read the ENTIRE transcript, or simply are parroting what you THINK is the truth about it??? HMMMM??? His comments directed towards McNabb were about his PERFORMANCE up to that point in the season. The race discussion and critique were directed at THE MEDIA for their fawning support and adulation of McNabb despite a lackluster start to that year's season!!! It was the best thing to happen to McNabb cuz he ended up the season in terrific fashion. RUSH is NOT a racist. Just because someone talks about race in a way that makes liberal dogmatix twitch at the truth does not make them racist . . .|||I don't think this is anything to boycott the NFL about. It is purely a business decision to avoid risk, no different than the over-reation to the Janet Jackson halftime show. They are about making money, and not going to do anything that might lose a dollar. Of course, there's the risk of boycott by Libaugh listeners, but only time will tell about that one.|||Yes, I'm sick of intolerant liberals running things. All they have to do is scream "racism" to get their way.

Everyone knows Rush is no racist. He has many good black friends and picked a black guy for the great job of being his back-up host.

Rush just says the things that everyone else wants to, but are afraid.|||well Rush had that anal fissure that kept him out of the army and Vietnam, he has overcome his drug addiction and helped prosecute those doctors that wrote scrips for him...I guess he does deserve the ram
