Will Royal Caribbean ever be as successful as Carnival?

Every few years Royal keeps on coming out with these brand new and huge cruise ships that the media just loves to advertise. I still remember seeing all these articles about the Oasis when it first came out.

Anyways... Carnival ships on the other hand don't seem to have many differences between each other yet (correct if I am wrong) they have been doing much better than Royal nowadays.

So do you think RCCL will ever be bigger than Carnival? Will Royal Caribbean ever be as successful as Carnival?
Bigger does not necessarily mean better. I am a loyal Royal cruiser and think Royal has much better ships and everything else.
most definitely. royal offers a ton more than carnival, and just personally i like the service way more on royal. but recently their individual service has gone down due to the larger number of people on the ships. Carnival maintains their individual service. But it comes down to costs and personal preferences. Like the Oasis and the freedom all have flowriders and that is definitely a huge sale for them. But like i said, its cost and personal preference. Will Royal Caribbean ever be as successful as Carnival?
Different people like different styles of cruises and ship. Personally I prefer Princess because they are very classy. I have no desire to cruise with Carnival. Perhaps it is because Carnival have lots of kids and their decor is glitzy. I prefer quiet elegance. So, you see, Royal Caribbean attracts a different crowd then Carnival and they are different then Princess. So, something for everyone.
Royal Caribbean seems to get a different crowd of people. I personally prefer it over Carnival. And I have found the service on Royal to be excellent. I was not aware that Carnival was more successful. Where did you get that information?
Carnival has more ships but they arent as nice as RCl RCl also RCl has better service and more amenties and they have a wider range of itinerys than carnival ie europe, Australia asia etc. RCl has a higher number of passengers and more income then carnival as well as two private islands in the caribbean
