Enchantment of the Seas dining questions...?

Just had a few questions about the RCCL, or Enchantment of the Seas more specifically. Maybe its the same for all the ships, but I was wondering what were the times of the dinner seatings? I thought i was 6, and 8:30, but correct me if I'm wrong...

Also, do many people participate in formal night? If you don't participate, where do you eat dinner? I would assume the main dining room is where the formal night takes place, so where would you eat if you didn't want to dress up?

Thanks.Enchantment of the Seas dining questions...?
If you choose early seating is 6:00 or 8:30 , it is up to you but they make you pick a time when you are booking a state room.

If you have 3-5 nights cruise, usually you have 1 formal night, most people wear formal dress , suit or tuxedo, but if you don't like it too formal, some people just wear regular dress, shirt and pants ( as long as it is not short , T-shirt and flip flop).

Also, there is a 20 hours causal dining , usually is located on the top or upper level of the ship where you can eat all you want, they have burger, sandwiches, pizza...etc. ( you can wear all swim suit, short and anything you want.)

Don't worry, you won't be starve, but I like the 4-5 course dinner in the main dinning room , they are delicious.

**YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE WEARING FANCY DRESSES OR SUITS TO EAT IN THE DINING ROOM.**

BUT DON'T WEAR FLIP FLOP, T-SHIRT AND SHORT.

for more information;
In a ship there are a lot of food. All kind of food. Coffe, milk, juice, Ice cream, pizza, meat, etc., you name it. It is in your budget. You can eat whatever you want to eat, at any time, unless if it is too late. There is a complete floor for eating food. Nine floor maybe.

There is one special day. In a restaurant, they have entertaiment, music and the Captain eats with the group. That is a formal day. Dress well. It is nice. You will enjoy it.

I was in the Carnaval Destiny two years ago, now I am going to be in another cruise this coming December.

Listen, pray to God in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, for your trip. It is good to get in the hand of our Lord Father God while traveling. Pray is when you talk to God, and enjoy it.

God bless you.Enchantment of the Seas dining questions...?
I don't remember the times specifically but 6 and 8:30 sound about right for the dining room. You don't HAVE to eat in the dining room at all if you don't want to. Some people don't like the idea of dining with 6 or so other passengers they don't know, so they opt not to do it. I prefer to go to the dining room at least on the first night, and if the people I'm sitting with are people I like talking to etc., I'd probably continue going there. However, on RCCL there's the Windjammer which is casual dining with open seating. It's a buffet and the menu sometimes falls in line with what the main dining room is serving. It's been a long time since I was on Enchantment and I can't remember if there is also a Johnny Rockets on that ship. If you go onto RCCL's website it will show you. If you can't find something you like between the dining room, the Windjammer or room service, you're a much pickier eater than me.. and I'm picky!

About formal night...I'd say a good majority of the people do participate in it...but if you don't, the Windjammer is open, Johnny Rockets (if it's there), and room service is still available.

There's lots of options, just do what you feel like doing :D
Hi Matt:

We are going on the Enchantment of the Seas in 3 weeks! I'm so excited! Yes, the times for the seatings are 6 and 8:30. (We are doing the 6 p.m.) You book your "seating" when you make your reservation.

This is our 3rd cruise and, yes, most do participate in the formal night. Why not?

I guess I don't know what the others do as we have always done it and gone into the dining room. But, there would be other options if you don't want to, like the casual dining areas. All you need to have is a nice shirt, pants, tie and shoes. My son and son-in-law are going to JC Penney to find something! We are blue collar type of people and hardly dress up, but we are going to for the cruise! I think you could even get by without having a "jacket" if you want, but it looks nicer if you do.

Have fun!
All ships have early and late dinner seating's. Early being anywhere from 5:45 to 6:15, and the late being around 8:00 or 8:15. Most people attend the formal night. Formal dress is optional, but recommended. You will only be denied entrance to the dining room is you're wearing shorts or tee shirts. Some cruise lines aren't too strict with that. I have seen shorts in the dining room on several occasions. Carnival has one casual night where you can wear shorts, tee shirts, or both to dinner. I don't know about the other cruise lines. You would have to contact them to find out. As for what to eat if you skip out of formal night. You can always eat up on the Lido deck, the same place where you eat breakfast and lunch. Some people like to eat at the supper club, but there is a nominal fee of about $30.00 per person. We've been told that the food was actually better at the other dining rooms. I feel it's unnecessary to pay extra for food on a cruise since unlimited food is included.
