Can Someone Help Me Out With Culinary School Info? I'm SO Confused!?

I'm about to be a junior in high school and I decided to start looking into culinary schools, I want to do pastry and baking and also take buisness %26amp; management classes because i later want to open up my own restaurant/bakery. Anyways! as I was "googling" today, i got REALLY confused! So could someone shine a little light on the situation please?

first off: so many different schools popped up in the search engine! any idea which ones are the best? the worst? and personal experience/reviews??

second: I want the highest degree that i can get in pastry and baking..i clicked on some sites and most of them are saying things like 8 weeks for courses or 600 hours..I don't quite understand that? Semesters make more sense to me..wow i'm so confused lol

third; how long would i be in school? and how much would the cost be (cost really isn't an issue, i have a college account and it is fully taken care of)

- Can someone please help me with all of this :(

also i would like to go to school in Chicago, California, New York/ Boston

- THANK YOU (: !Can Someone Help Me Out With Culinary School Info? I'm SO Confused!?
Looking for a culinary school is very confusing, I'll agree. I cannot give an answer to all of your questions, but I might be able to help out a bit.

1- check for accredited schools. this way, if you do graduate with a really good grade average, you'll be considered for most culinary jobs you apply for. if you choose a school that isn't accredited, then your certificate, degree, or diploma will not be acknowleged by certain establishments. then all of that hard work would be for nothing.

2- i believe, not certain, that each day is a full day's worth of school. it just depends on the college that your looking at. others will only have you working for 20 hours a week.

3- in my personal search, you can graduate in 9 months to 4 years. once again, each one is different.

your searching could take some time. be sure to cut out time to just sit down and do a bunch of research. don't get discouraged if they dont give you all of the info. just make a phone call or send an email. it really pays to get in touch with the colleges your interested in.Can Someone Help Me Out With Culinary School Info?
