Good Morning Chicago! Where do I go once I get there?

I will be visiting the downtown Chicago area for a week in November and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips about good restaurants and/or bars somewhere near McCormick Place. I'm looking for places that can accomodate a large crowd, possible 30 to 50 people for dinner and drinks.

Also, what sort of transportation is available....I imagine it's like NY or Philly, with taxi's and busses everywhere, yes?

Thanks for your help.Good Morning Chicago! Where do I go once I get there?
If you like, you can take a bus or cab back toward downtown and check out a few bars along South Michigan Ave. near Roosevelt. There has been a LOT of new development along Michigan Ave. and Wabash and there are plenty of new bars and restaurants (as well as a condo boom). There are quite a few places that can accomodate that many people.

Or you can head west from McCormick place to Chinatown on 22nd and Cermak. Again, there are a few restaruants that can handle large crowds, like Three Happiness.

I've provided links for restaurants in Chinatown and the South Loop area. Many of then are bar/restaurants. But for that many people, you'd better call first.

BTW, McCormick Place is THE major convention site in Chicago and as such has lots of transportation, be it buses or cabs lined up. The site is served by the No. 3 and 4 buses, which go from downtown MIchigan Ave. to the front door of McCormick Place.

There are SO many places to go in Chicago!!!

This is a list of all of the resturants in Chicago.I recomend them all, but a few of them, are just WAY better than the other ones.

I'd try Weber Grill Resturant. Its the best!!! Great service, and exellent food!!! You can find celebrities at the Weber Grill too!!! I found Britanny Spears, Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, And Dolly Partan there!!! Its FANTASTIC!!!!

I have a few tips on the other resturants though.

Don't go to any of the chinese resturants!!! You will get sick!!! Only go to the places that are high quality, or you WILL get sick!!!

Go to the Italian resturants too!!! Those are great as well!!!

Try not to go to that many bars. There are CRAZY people there!!!

Also, try greek!!! I LOVE the greek resturants!!!

For transportation, there are buses, taxi's, boats, subways, and trains.Don't take the subway!!! You could get KILLED!!! I got threatend by some guy who wanted me to come in his car!!!

If you want to take the train, then be careful at the train station. There are a LOT of bad people!!! The train itself isn't too bad though.

Taxi's can be really expensive!!! Only take the taxi's that look clean, and safe, and make sure they have a nice driver.

Boats are SO much fun!!! You can ride a boat along Lake Michigan, on a nice boat!!! Its SO fun and relaxing!!! Go to Navy Pier!!! They have live performances, and a resturant, and some other "Carnival Like" things to do, and the best boats!!! They have good prices, great boats, and great service!!!

I have a few tips.

Stay at a GREAT hotel!!! Make sure its rated 5 stars, and make sure it is clean, healthy, and make sure you get good service!!! If its not rated high, than you could get KILLED!!! I am serious, too!!!

Don't go without a map!!! If you get lost, you could get KILLED!!!

There are SO many easy ways to get killed in Chicago, so get GREAT advice before you go!!! Come prepared, and don't go in bad places!!! There are many horrible places to be, and so many bad people there!!!

Good Luck, And Be Safe!!!
