My parents' 40th wedding anniversary is in a couple of weeks. My mom asked if my siblings and I would want to join them for their anniversary dinner, but I was a little hesitant, thinking that since it was such an important occasion that maybe it should be just the two of them. Then I got the idea that we could sort of re-create their wedding (go to the place they had the reception for dinner, see if we could replicate their cake). Unfortunately, the place where their reception was held burned down about six months after they got married. The reception was at the Boston 1800 Club/Restaurant, owned by MLB commentator and former member of the Red Sox and Chicago White Sox Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, so clearly we can't go there. However, I was hoping that there was a restaurant on the location currently, but I'm having a little bit of trouble, because I haven't been able to find an address yet. I've narrowed the location to Maverick Square, East Boston, but I'm hoping to get even narrower. Can anyone help me out?Where was the Boston 1800 Club?
East Bostons Maverick square has changed a lot!
I was a singer and waitress at the Boston 1800 in about 1970. I actually forget when exactly it was but it was about 1969 or 1970. The restaurant was on the water - right at Boston Harbor in East Boston - first stop out of the tunnel. I felt sad when it burned. It was a fun working there.

My father also worked there in 1970. He was a purchasing agent. He left before it burnt down. I still have the boston 1800 coffee mugs. I cherish them. I remember fishing off the end and catching a mess of flounders. Do you remember the half sunken ship on the side of the dock.
