Which ships have you been on? Which one was your favorite?
I've done several Carnival and my least favorite was the Destiny. The layout was just all over the place.
I've only done one Royal and am eager to add more so I was wondering--your personal favorite? larger or smaller? For those that have been on more than 3 RCCL ships...?
I have been on about 7 or 8 Royal Caribbean ships. My favorite by far are their newer ships in the Radiance, Freedom, and Voyager classes. Here's a link where you can look at virtual tours of all of RC's ships: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis鈥?/a>
The Freedom Class (Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas and Independence of the Seas) are a slightly larger version of the Voyager class ship ( five of them). I cruised on the Freedom and will be going on the Liberty later this year. The Freedom class has all of the ship's amenities you could want; rock climbing wall, basketball/tennis court, ice skating, the surfing simulator, the biggest and best gym on any cruise ship, multiple pools and hot tubs including a kid's water park.
The Voyager class are slightly smaller and do not have the surfing simulator but do have an in-line skating track. I have cruised on two Voyager class ship, the Mariner and the Adventure. The Mariner has been moved to LA and now does the Mexican Rivera cruises.
I think the top of my list with RC is the Radiance class ships. I have been on three of the four ships; Radiance of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas and Jewel of the Seas, and will be doing the Brilliance for the second time later this year. The Radiance classes do primarily the Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, and New England/Canada itineraries and so have fewer kids. Plus I like their open terrace for eating on the back of the ship. You can get food in the buffet area and then find a table outside, mostly under cover.
After cruising on the Freedom, which can hold almost 4,000 people I didn't find the huge ship to be a problem, neither getting on nor getting around on ship. It just didn't seem crowded at all.
Well I haven't been on 3 yet, but last year I went on Serenade of the Seas and I literally just got back from Independence of the Seas.
Independence was a bigger ship (the biggest one until Oasis is released) but both ships had organized layouts and were really easy to get around after a couple days.
I loved the Serenade but I'd probably recommend Independence just because its a newer line with more to do and a few modifications.
Hoped that helped! For those that have been on more than 3 RCCL ships...?
I have been on a few RCCL cruises but of all of them, my least favorite was the Grandeur of the Seas. The service and food was not up to RCCL's par. I was really disappointed. I have been on about 25 cruises and this was my least favorite of all of them. Truly disappointing. Just as a heads up... hope that helped eliminate one ship of theirs.
ive been on three royal caribbean cruise -
explorer of the seas
majesty of the seas
and
freedom of the seas
explorer of the seas is the best tho !
