I'm hoping to go to Chicago for a day next week. I'm bringing a friend and we're just going to hang out. We're planning on leaving early in the morning and hopefully get there around 8 or 9.
1) What is open and fun to go to (and inexpensive....) in the morning before lunch time?
2) Are museums free on Tuesdays? Someone told me they are...
3) Where is the best place to park in order to get to the museums, restaurants, Shedd's Aquarium, downtown, and good walking areas for cheap?
4) Any suggestions for a couple of poor college students under 21 to go do/see?
Thank you! :-)A few questions about Chicago...?
1) Wander around the parks nearby or the Museum Campus and near the lake.
2) The main museums no longer have set free days. They now have sponsored free days. The next one for the Field Museum is Monday August 10th.
3) For Parking options check out Best Parking's site. Though you may just want to park at the Field Museum (Check their site for info)
4) Wander around the parks, beaches, Loop. If you're willing to head up to Lincoln Park- the Zoo and Conservatory are both free.A few questions about Chicago...?
Free places to see are
Navy Pier
Millenium Park
Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park
For a low price you can get out on the lake for picture-taking in a water taxi (last link)
