What should I do in New York?

My girlfriend and I, both 30 and from Chicago, are spending a week there for work. We'll have 2 full days off, and don't know what to do. The MOMA is at the top of the list, and we can get some restaurant recommendations from friends. Any "touristy" but cool things to do? We've already been to the World Trade Center and Statue of Liberty, and are staying in the East Village...What should I do in New York?
Do you like Rent? If you're staying in the East Village, Life Cafe is in the area. (Not sure where, 10th %26amp; ?)

This link is really helpful, even though it's meant for Columbia Students:

Don't carry much cash, keep your head low, avoid dark places and keep an eye on your wallet. What should I do in New York?
Your travel to New York City would be incomplete without a visit to its equally attractive neighborhoods. These include Buffalo, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, White Plains, Tarrytown and few others.New York City has cold winters with moderate snowfall. Summers are warm and humid, with temperatures hovering around 90 掳F (32 掳C) or higher. So, you can travel to this place at anytime of the year, as per your choice.if any other travel information plz log on http://www.globester.com
The museums are really cool! The Metropolitan and the Museum of Natural History are some cool museums. Broadway show are always really awesome in NYC! I've seen Mary Poppins and I'm seeing Hairspray there next month. You can shop on 5th avenue too which has many shops and is very "touristy". FAO Shwartz is my favorite store on 5th Avenue because of how big and nice it is. Hope you have fun on your trip and I hope this helped :]
bus tours are fun and you get to see a lot of the city and a short time.. http://www.citysightsny.com
